every photo is based on a different place and time at the moment it was taken. the photos on display are in black and white and color, taken in 2019 in sydney and auckland with an analog medium-format camera. the opportunity to develop the film on site was missed, so the hidden images traveled all the way to vienna. the film roll was forgotten and did not end up in the lab until 2025. the film showed signs of its long journey. these visible defects led to the idea of analog post-processing, as was common in the early days of photography. analog and digital processing techniques illustrate different time levels. the history of each photo traverses multiple phases of time. the anachronistic technique of hand coloring emphasizes the past that was once the future. in addition, the simultaneity of analog and digital points to a future where boundaries and techniques become more permeable.
